Introduction to chapter 3
This chapter, Sports and Health, will explore the mental and physical health benefits of, and some of the injury concerns in playing sports.
Section 1:
The first section includes a New York Times video and and an Aeon article on brain injury in contact sports, and a TED video and a New York Times article about how playing teams sports can benefit mental and physical health, particularly adolescents with a history of trauma. Each of these resources is followed by a comprehension quiz. You need to complete the different activities in the first section in order (from 1 to 5). Once you have finished an activity, the next one will open up. (The approximate study time is indicated for each activity.)
