This chapter, Mystery Patient, will explore the complexity of diagnosing patients and the search for unknown diseases and treatments.

Section 1:

The first section includes a Salon Talks video video and about Lisa Sanders, the physician that Dr. House is based on and her diagnostic work, an article from the New York Times about the difficulty of finding causes of diseases for patients with unusual symptoms. You will also listen to a video from Yale Medicine about one woman's search for a diagnosis for her pain and lastly, an article about using ancient DNA to shed light on modern disease.  Each of these resources is followed by a comprehension quiz. You need to complete the different activities in the first section in order (from 1 to 4). Once you have finished an activity, the next one will open up.
