Types of Nonfinite Verbs
Bare Infinitives (base verb without "to") Example: She made me.
Present Participles (-ing form) Example: Walking through the park, he felt calm.
Past Participles (usually -ed or irregular) Example: Exhausted by the climb, she sat down.
Functions of Nonfinite Clauses
As subjects To err is human. Walking in the rain is fun.As objects He hopes to win They watched her dancing.
As adverbials To finish on time, we must work fast. Having eaten, he went for a nap.
As modifiers The man talking to her is my uncle. The house built in 1850 is still standing.
