Welcome to the C1 level course on health and wellbeing!

Reaching Level C1 means you have achieved an advanced level in reading, listening, speaking, and understanding both colloquial and standard language. It also means you can fluently engage in conversation about professional and everyday life.

The first semester of this course looked at health-related topics such as nutrition, sleep, and doctors on TV. This semester will continue looking at similar themed topics through the medium of articles, podcasts, and videos. Each of these will be followed by a quiz.

Each chapter will also include a language section containing grammar and vocabulary, and ends with a language quiz. After every two chapters, there will be a test. This assessment helps you review the material learned, and distributes grades more evenly.

Here is the breakdown of the course: chapter one looks at art therapy and its connection with health. In chapter two is about identity and representation as it relates to wellbeing. Chapter three looks at sports, while chapter four is on the use of technology in healthcare. Chapter five looks at patient-doctor interactions, and will work on vocabulary related to communicating in English with healthcare practitioners. Lastly, chapter six touches on some ethical questions in medical practice.

At the end of the course, there will be a final exam that can be completed at any time during a four-day window from May 13th to 16th, 2026.

By the end of this course, you will have expanded your vocabulary related to discussing various wellbeing topics, worked on your grammar, and hopefully had some fun along the way, too!
