Nominalization

Nominalization refers to turning a verb, adjective, or clause into a noun in order to create a more abstract concept. This often gives a formal, academic tone to your text or speech. 

Marginalize (v) ➡ marginalization 

Inclusive (adj)  inclusivity 

Older adults are excluded (clause)  the exclusion of older adults 


Here are some examples in context:


Continuing to marginalize older patients impacts healthcare.   ➡ The marginalization of older adults impacts healthcare. 
They failed to include all patients.    ➡ There was a failure to ensure the inclusivity of all patients.
The doctor offered to treat her.  ➡  The doctor offered her treatment.
Some doctors assume patients are too old to treat.  ➡ There is an assumption by some doctors that patients are too old for treatment
My attempt to be inclusive backfired.   ➡  My attempt at inclusivity backfired.
