I. What advice would you give the patient about playing sports safely?

It is essential to view sports through a lens where mental health is just as important as physical health. To play safely and effectively, you should focus on developing resilience by learning how to "fail and get back up", as this mindset provides a protective foundation for your well-being. Be mindful of subtle signals from your body and mind for exemple, if a "straightforward injury" is taking much longer to heal than expected, it may be a sign of underlying emotional distress. Furthermore, pay attention to your levels of concentration and your sense of connection with you teammates, as a decline in these areas can be an early indicator of stress. Finally, the most significant benefits of sports happen when the activity remains a "pastime" that you genuinely enjoy.

II. What questions would you have for the patient regarding playing sports?

During this exam, my goal is to understand your overall health in a "matter of fact" way, free from any stigma. I would like to start by asking : " What are your own goals for this sport, and what do you enjoy most about it ?". It's also important for me to know about your social environment : "Do you feel a strong connection to your teammates and coaches ?". Finally, i want to hear about your daily experience : "What was the best part about your practice today?" These questions help ensure that sports remain a positive and protective activity for you.
