I. What advice would you give the patient about playing sports safely?

If I were speaking to a patient before a pre-participation exam, I'd say this :

"Playing sports is very beneficial for both your physical and mental health. It helps build fitness, confidence teamwork skills and resilience. It's still important to play safely. To do so, you should always use proper equipment based on the sport your playing because this significantly reduces the risk of injury.

You should always make sure that you are physically prepared by warming up, stretching and building strength gradually which can help prevent muscle injuries.

Don't forget to stay hydrated and listen to your body ! If something hurts, don't ignore it.

Finally, remember that sports should be enjoyable. Never force yourself to play a sport, pushing too hard or feeling constant pressure can have negative effects too."

II. What questions would you have for the patient regarding playing sports?

- Have you had any previous injuries ?
- Do you ever feel pain, dizziness or unusual fatigue during or after playing ?
- What sport do you play and how often do you train ?
- Are you supervised by a coach or trained adult ?
- Do you enjoy playing this sport or do you sometimes feel stressed or pressured ?

I really like your answer because you mention both the physical and mental aspects of sports. I also agree with the idea that sports should stay enjoyable and not become a source of pressure. Your questions are very relevant, especially the ones about previous injuries and stress, because they can help identify if a sport is becoming harmful instead of beneficial.
