First, sports are great, not just for your body but also for your mental health. They can help you feel more confident, reduce stress, and even build resilience. But it’s important to play safely. I would advise you to listen to your body and not ignore pain, especially after a shock or injury. Wearing the right equipment and taking time to rest and recover are also essential. And honestly, don’t push yourself just to “prove something” — long term consistency matters more than intensity.

Also, in team sports, communication is key. Feeling comfortable with your teammates and coach can really make a difference, especially if something feels off, physically or mentally.

Then I would ask a few questions to understand your situation better:

  • Have you ever had any injuries, especially concussions or joint problems?

  • How do you usually feel after intense exercise — exhausted, stressed, or energized?

  • Do you play sports for fun, competition, or pressure from others?

  • And importantly, do you feel comfortable speaking up if something doesn’t feel right?

Because at the end of the day, sports should help you grow, not break you!

I completely agree about resilience and stress — these are often overlooked, especially the feeling of satisfaction during and after a challenge.
